And, I agree. I don't want to belittle your feelings for him Jenni. I'm very glad you were able to make it through a rough patch, because of him.
Lately, though, his lead-ins to new topics feel very tabloid-ish and "sound bitey" to me. And, when he renders his "verdict" at the end, it's surprising how very little he says. For that reason, I don't watch him very much. Since I never watched him in the beginning, I can't say if he's changed or not.
Bless your heart for sticking up for him, though, Jenni! I'll defend to the death (almost) your right to do so! |
Thanks Inky Dr. Phil was great when he was on Oprah so i'll always defend him, but i actually agree with alot of everyone's points against him. He used to be VERY hard on the guests and was not afraid to tell people what they needed to hear and you could actually see light bulbs going off in people heads (as well as everyone watching) when suddenly they "got it" and understood why they had the destructive behavior patterns they had and how they could change it and make their lives happier. It was great to see people actually being helped.
His show now is a very watered down version of that now He isn't very hard on his guests anymore so he never seems to get to the heart of anyone's problem to actually help them. I've heard this is because he needs guests for his show and if he is to hard on them, they won't come on and then he can't shed light on the topic.
I actually don't get to watch it much anymore, most of the topic's he has on anymore, i don't want to expose my 3 year old to. Some of them are veryyyyyy Jerry Springerish
Anyway, i just read he called off his Britney show because things were "to intense" with her right now. Thank God!
I don't know anyone that is bi-polar but right before all this happened, I was watching Psychic Sylvia Brown (don't laugh ) on Montel Williams show. She was doing her next year predictions and she said that Britney was bi-polar. Not saying that makes it true but it would explain her wild behavior. |
