He is my favorite author at the moment, and I am reading "The Guardian"
As you can see the romantic come out in me again. These are the only kind of books I read.
Anybody read it?

I think that Nickolas Sparks wrote The Guardian. It is right in front of me in my bookcase. I have read everybook he has written with the exception of the one out right now. The Guardian is an excellent book and of course Sparks writes wonderful romantic books. _________________ In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on...Robert Frost

Many times I read his books at one sitting and yes I have fallen asleep reading with light and glasses on.....those are the good times when a book is so good you just can't put it down.
The previous thread about vampires....those books make you heart beat faster.....very romantic and intense and suspenseful. I read the first book until 4 am to finish it....it is a book that I will reread. _________________ In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on...Robert Frost

I haven't read The Guardian. But I love Nicholas Sparks. My problem is when I read a book, and then they make the movie of it, I am always disappointed in the film...
I loved Message in a Bottle, The Wedding, The Notebook (of course), True Believers, and At First Sight. Just to name a few.....
My problem with reading is that I am compulsive, and I cannot wait to read what happens next. I will start a book with the intention of reading a few chapters before bed, and the next thing I know, I am so wrapped up in it that I cannot put it down. My hubby laughs at me, and says you bought that darned thing, it's not like they are expecting you to return it tomorrow. |

I find that one of the best parts of reading. It is you, the words, and your imagination. What more could you ask for. And Fame, if I read a book that is really, really good.....I DO NOT GO SEE THE MOVIE. I learned my lesson years ago plus my daughters would get angry with me for saying the movie just wasn't as good as the book. They didn't read the book so for them the movie was excellent. _________________ In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on...Robert Frost

Love it! It is called addiction. I always tell my family I am an addict. Whether it is reading, sewing, crocheting, or painting a room...gotta get it done yesterday! It is all or nothing. No moderation. Of course, my addictive personality is probably what keeps me coming here to this site. (Just got the paperback edition of At First Site and I know I better not pick it up til this weekend.) _________________

| It is definately an addiction. I drive my kids crazy pushing reading on them. Fortunately for me, they have listened to me, and they love it. However, they don't like the audio books at all, which suprises me. I bought some for the drive from Ky to California, and I would find myself sitting in the car at 4 am listening to them. It isn't the same for me, but nothing beats a good book in my opinion. |
