Do we have any champagne connoisseurs? I'm looking for something with great flavor but at the lowest price tag. If this is any help my hubby and I have had Asti Spumante and enjoy the sweet bubbly flavor but have never tasted actual champagne so I wouldn't know where to start.

Any help will be appreciated. Very Happy

Hmm, 27 views and no responses. I'm beginning to feel like a lush. Maybe I'll just skip the champagne this year as I believe there is no such thing as inexpensive champagne. Asti Spumante it is.

I don't know either. I don't really care for Champagne. It gives me a headache.

Try that link, hope it helps. I do not partake of the alcohol either, give me a good bottle of Coke Classic and I am one happy camper!

I hate headaches so I'll trust Mood and skip the champagne for New Years. I've never had champagne and wanted to do something different this year but I'm way out of my element here.

Char--Yuck, I hate beer. It tastes horrible. Even the smell makes me sick. Shocked

aTmMom--Classic coke is nectar of the gods. I rarely drink it anymore as I'm addicted to caffeine free diet sprite and diet pepsi. I'll check out the web site and thank you so much aTmMom! You are a sweetie pie. Very Happy

I had champagne once... at my wedding.
Can't remember what it tasted like.
All I recall is that my Dad saved a bottle and gave it to us to take with us when we left for our honeymoon.
We saved it for another few weeks until we moved south to another city.
When we got there, we found that the champagne bottle had popped from the jouncing around in the car, and damaged some of our important documents.
We still have them, stains and all.
Never ever bought any champagne again! Wink

On TV this morning, I heard them recommend Prosecco (sp?). The only champagne we have had was when it came to us as a gift.

Maybe I will try this.

Asti Spumante is the best. The only thing my friends and I drink.

I love you all! Thanks for the help and comments. This coming new year is important to me. I'm hoping for some real changes in my life and better medical care so I wanted to start the year in a major celebratory way.

I will try the Korbel and I appreciate the advice, you are all such a giving, caring bunch. Very Happy Very Happy

Now, Frannie! If you really want to have good luck in the new year, you have to eat pork and sauerkraut on New Year's Day. Didn't your mom tell you that????? And, if you don't want to cook it, yourself, just come to my house. There's always room for one more! Laughing

Pork...uh...can it be bacon or sausage? I hate pork roasts and porkchops. And I've never heard that saying. I LOVE sauerkraut! It is the German in me.

I wonder if there is a common dish or favorite dish eaten by the Dutch, Germans, Swedes and the French? That's all my ancestors that we know of so far. I would love to find a recipe that was something my ancestors ate centuries ago. Okay, now I'm just babbling. Embarassed
