I LOVE K D Lang! I saw her perform a few times when I was hanging out in Vancouver and she is one of the best live performers anywhere.
Here's another beauty - she sings Roy Orbison's "Crying."

You guys have mentioned some really great songs! Frances and Lawmom, my Linkin Park lovers, have you heard any of their songs where they collaborated with JayZ? They put a few of their songs together. Really cool sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nlx-DACkVDE <<Numb/Encore.

That's my favorite mash-up NicklePickle! They did a MTV concert when that record came out and performed some of the songs. It sounded awesome.

I have a major music confession to make. After you read this I have a feeling that you all will want me to leave this forum forever. Here goes....I love KISS! There music is so childish and such but I LOVE KISS. I've seen them in concert about 6 times. My very first concert (I was 13) was KISS and the group Styx. I actually met Gene Simmons at a benefit when I was 29 years old.

I could have just gone along my merry way and never admitted to this love but that would be dishonest.

I Love It Loud

Stand up, you don't have to be afraid, get down - love is like a hurricane
Street boy, no I never could be tamed, better believe it

Guilty 'til I'm proven innocent, whiplash, heavy metal accident
Rock on, I wanna be President, 'cos

Chorus:
I love it loud, I wanna hear it loud, right between the eyes
Loud, I wanna hear it loud, I don't want to compromise

Turn it up, hungry for the medicine, two fisted to the very end
No more treated like aliens, we're not gonna take it
No lies, no more alibis, turn it up, it's got me hypnotized
Rock on, I won't be tranquilized, 'cos

I feel better for having confessed but I just hope you will still love me.

Frances, I love your true confession. Smile 80's rock bands are so much fun. I like AC/DC, Van Halen, Scorpion, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Ozzy and Kiss.

Our graduating class motto was "Rock Alive '85". Laughing Laughing

Oooh, oooh, you made me think of "Thunder Struck" by AC/DC! My head is starting to bang a bit... Laughing

ETA: I've seen AC/DC, Def Leppard (twice) and Aerosmith in concert! Good times!

I was actually "on stage" for an AC/DC concert. Played tennis with the band that opened for them and they invited me and my children to the performance. Never felt more deaf than a few minutes on stage with them. The platform actually shook. It was an experience I will never forget!

Love AC/DC! I still rock out to "Back in Black" and "You Shook Me All Night Long" when the spirit moves me!

I'm laughing...I know exactly what you mean. After every KISS concert I couldn't hear very well for a few days. It's an acquired taste. Very Happy

I saw Van Halen twice, Sammy Haggar solo and with Van Halen and Scorpion back in the 80's.

Had to You-tube "Back in Black" after all this. My little boys were having a blast playing air guitar with me. They think Mommy has lost it. Rolling Eyes Laughing

I love this song, NP ... Here's a Janelle tribute with it as the background music:

In my favorite songs/artists post, I forgot to mention Mary Chapin Carpenter ... I love her albums "Stones in the Road," and "Come on, Come on." My favorite song of hers is "Shut Up and Kiss Me." I think the lyrics have been posted in the W&J song thread, but in case you haven't seen it, here's a sample:

Come closer baby I can't hear you, just another whisper if you please
Don't worry 'bout the details darlin', you've got the kind of mind I love to read
Talk is cheap and baby time's expensive, so why waste another minute more
Life's too short to be so apprehensive, love's as much the symptom darlin' as the cure
Oh baby when I feel this feeling, it's like genuine voodoo hits me
It's been too long since somebody whispered...
Oh baby I can feel this feeling that everything that you do gives me
It's been too long since somebody whispered
Shut up and kiss me
Shut up and kiss me

This is a great song to add to your 'bedroom" playlist. (Ha) Love Me Like a Man - Bonnie Raitt
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qIZAyFrtIA
Here's a couple of others that are good .....
Girl of Mine - Blue Rodeo
The Back of Your Hand - Dwight Yoakam
I Still Believe in You - Vince Gill
It Feels Like Rain - Aaron Neville

Can you add to the list?
