I made shortbread cookies this summer. Shortbread is delicious I think when dipped in coffee or tea, but it always has so much unhealthy butter. Laughing

Yeah, and the French eat butter and cream a lot and they are a lot healthier "heart-wise" than here. I doubt that moderate butter use is all that unhealthy.

You know what Nancy. You are right. Butter is considered a natural fat not man made chemicals or anything like that. It is probably better for you than any artificial man made spread. I love it and probably eat way to much but I am no where near over weight (under if anything) and my doctor says all is well so why not!! LOL Very Happy

I don't want to sound overly mushy...Inky and Sydney, you make me feel really happy deep down inside. You are really nice people. It gives me great pleasure to come to this board and read your posts. No need to reply to this message. I just wanted you both to know that you have been a great help to me during this holiday season and my mental state thanks you! Embarassed Laughing Laughing

I wish you lived closer, Frannie. What fun we'd have baking and getting ready for Christmas. Since we can't do that, though, I'll settle for poking my head in here and seeing your smiling face . . . and Sydney's. Hugs, my friend.

Pat

And, the same to you, Sydney! Enjoy your time with your familly, tomorrow. I would say I hope those two precious little girls get everything they want from Santa, but I have a feeling that won't be a problem. I'd love to see their little faces when they see what the "jolly red elf" has left for them, tomrrow. Merry Christmas, Sydney, to you and to your entire family.

Merry Christmas to all of you lovely ladies (and our couple of guys). Very Happy

I've got a cheescake in the oven. Next will be the pumpkin pies and some fresh cookies.

Tonight I'm going to attempt a small standing rib roast. It is just the 6 of us so no pressure and hopefully it will be yummy.

Inky-my almost 7 year old says the HO-HO cake must be for his birthday on the 26th. He is very excited to help me make it. Very Happy

Enjoy the day tomorrow!

Merry Christmas to you, too, Carolyn and to all of our other lovely posters (yes, the guys are lovely too Laughing ).

Your little boy turns seven the day after Christmas? How lucky is that! And, how busy you must have been seven years ago today. Very Happy I'll bet that's one Christmas you'll never forget. Tell your little one "hi from the Ho Ho lady in Ohio." Ho Ho cake is my "little" boy's favorite, too. Only, my little boy is in his 30s. Yikes!! Where has the time gone? And, how did that happen, when I'm still 29??
